Paste link into new Terminal
It would be great if Choosy could open a Terminal window (or tab) and paste the link into that. I'm a developer, and it's a thing I do often manually.

Browser extension closes tab when opening in another browser
The Safari extension lets me open a menu of browsers and click one to open that tab in that browser.
I'd like to be able to option-click to also close that tab in the current browser. (An option to make this the default would also be nice.)

Open in background
If open-in-background can be made to work reliably, it would be a great additional option for Advanced rules.

Support automatically sending pages to other browsers
For example, if I open a page in one browser that should be opened in another browser, have it automatically send it to the other browser. For instance, if I type it in or if I copy a url into the url bar and press enter

Expand the width of text field in Custom rules
When you add/edit a custom rule to catch a web address containing a text, the text field has a fixed width which does not expand if the window is resized.
For long texts, one sees only a tiny bit.
Instead, the text field can just adjust to the window width to occupy as much space as possible.
I guess this is just a simple fix in the interface builder.

No Open with Choosy in Safari contextual menu
The “Open with Choosy” option is not included in the right-click menu for links in Safari after installing and activating the browser extension (in Mojave 10.14.6, with Choosy 2.1) on my Mac.
The toolbar button is there, but not the option in the menu. Quitting and relaunching Safari doesn't help.
What am I missing?

Jamf: The application "Choosy" can't be opened.
Ever since upgrading to 2.0, I cannot used Choosy any longer. I simply get a popup dialog saying "The application Choosy can't be opened." Nothing obvious to me in the console to help figure out what's happening. I've deleted and tried 2.1 with no luck.
Any suggestions?
1 voteThis issue is caused by an incompatibility between Jamf and Choosy’s Hardened Runtime settings. I’m working on a fix.

Allow advanced rules to not open a browser
I have some development scripts that will open links when things happen in my test app. I’d like to be able to set up a choosy rule that doesn’t open those links in any browser when the rule is active.
(A workaround is to choose “Use all of these browsers...” and choose nothing.)

The URL x-choosy://prompt.all/https://www.azimuthproject.org/azimuth/show/Experiments%20in%20Differential%20Logic doesn't work from
URL's with spaces (either " " or "%20") stopped working at some point:
x-choosy://prompt.all/https://www.azimuthproject.org/azimuth/show/Experiments%20in%20Differential%20Logic
I'm pretty sure the logjam is at the macosx prefpane app, but I haven't proven that yet.
If it's not obvious what the problem is, tell me what more I need to do?

Advanced rule source app shows blank
In Choosy 1.3 on Mojave 10.14.5 there is a problem with adding advanced rules based on source application. Unlike some of the other open issues here, the rule does actually work for me. But the application name appears blank in the rule list.

Fix links from Adobe applications
Choosy doesn't work from Adobe apps. Please fix it.
It’s taken me quite a bit of troubleshooting (with Adobe tech support) to discover it is the culprit behind my broken links from Adobe products. For example, in Adobe XD, when I choose the “Share” menu and then choose “Manage links” it takes me to a page that says “Invalid credentials.” When I deactivate Choosy, the page appears fine.
I don't know if this is because it is using Adobe Air.

Allow Choosy to target Chrome Apps as browsers
I have a Chrome app for web mail. It would be awesome if I could get Choosy to open links in that Chrome app. But I don't know if Choosy can see them as valid app/browser targets.

Fix bug: Choosy 1.3 does not appear in 10.14 System Preferences
Choosy is working as the default browser, but it does not appear in System Preferences, so I can't change any of its options. Help, please!

Choosy 1.3 cannot pick a "source application" on newest MacOS Mojave 10.14.3
I can install the preferences pane, and rules that aren't based on "Source Application" seem just fine.
When I pick the application for a "Source Application" rule, the file picker shows up and I can select something, but it isn't then reflected in the rule in the list of rules. I tried anyways hoping it was just a visual glitch, but alas the rule isn't working.
Choosy seems like exactly what I've been looking for if I can get a source application rule working!

Add Mailplane Support
I have found that Mailplane does not respect choosy rules... it does not give me a browser prompt, and does not use the correct browser when I try to add an advanced rule for the app.

Improve performance
I really like Choosy. Just bought it. But I'd like to see it improve in performance. My super powerful MacBook Pro takes about half a second to open a link and display the browser. Without Choosy it happens in immediately. Any ways to achieve that? Kind regards Eric

Still not working on Mojave 10.14.2
I get the same "Could not load Choosy preference pane" as was reported months ago.
Is there a way to make this work?1 vote
