This looks like it might be related to driver issues with the Nvidia Geforce 7300 graphics card.
Could those who are following this thread leave comments indicating which graphics card their Mac uses?

Here's what's happening for me. I have a list of urls in Numbers.app, I click, choosy firefox, check the IP address, copy it to the clipboard, go back to Numbers to paste the IP address in, click the next url and it hangs, coming up with corrupted icons after a pause, click somewhere else and click the url and it opens choosy instantly with proper icons.
